exhibition opening & gala
Portland Art Museum
Role: Creative Director, Art Director
I led the full creative direction for the Portland Art Museum’s Africa Fashion Exhibition Gala, shaping the evening as a cohesive spatial and cultural experience from concept through execution.
The environment translated themes of lineage, craftsmanship, and continuity into a unified room design, anchored by a suspended floral sculpture of over 4,000 stems of baby’s breath. Lighting, seating, performance, and table design were composed as one system, moving through a gradual shift from warm dusk tones into deep fuchsia and midnight blue. The result was an immersive tribute to legacy, radiance, and ritual.
CINEMA UNBOUND AWARDS 2024 // immersive installation design
PAM CUT X PORTLAND ART MUSEUM
Role: Creative Director, Art Director
I served as Creative Director for the Portland Art Museum’s Cinema Unbound Awards, conceiving the event as a bold, immersive world that transformed the museum into a cinematic experience.
The environment translated cinematic futurism into a maximalist world design, anchored by a recurring eyeball motif that threaded through sculpture, projection, performance, and graphic elements. Drawing from Akira, The Fifth Element, and hyper-stylized sci-fi, the space pulsed with saturated color, surreal scale, and visual repetition designed to destabilize and delight.
Lighting, custom installations, performers, and visual illusions were composed as one system, an immersive fever dream built to be felt in the body as much as seen.
